In response to the Sidewalk Labs Toronto brief, our sustainable typology went beyond a fixed program to encapsulate a wider architectural vision. We envisaged a smart neighborhood – the internet brought to life – promoting meaningful citizen engagement. Our solution was a three-dimensional grid structure, offering options influenced by local contexts. The design was rooted in nurturing individuality and social diversity, combating societal homogenization. Our open and flexible design encourages civic participation, embodying the transformative potential of digital platforms. This approach caters to a range of living needs, cultivating a diverse, integrated community and sidestepping stereotype-based solutions.
